The Opportunity

Picton Investments is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer who builds software end-to-end. You’ll design and deliver cloud-native systems that power analytics, reporting, and investment workflows, while ensuring the user experience is intuitive, responsive, and built to scale.

We value engineers who think long-term, challenge assumptions, and take accountability for outcomes- not just code.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices that support data-driven platforms and core business workflows.
• Develop reliable, maintainable applications using .NET and/or Node.js, applying clean architecture and strong engineering principles.
• Build modern web applications using React and Next.js, integrating seamlessly with backend services and dynamic data sources.
• Translate product and design requirements into polished, accessible user interfaces using modern HTML, CSS, Flexbox/Grid, and design systems.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, data, and platform teams to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions.
• Integrate applications with cloud services and data platforms, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• Champion best practices across the stack, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational excellence.
• Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technology roadmap planning with a thoughtful, opinionated voice.
• Own features from concept through production, balancing speed with long-term maintainability.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience building production-grade software as a Full Stack Developer.
• Strong experience designing and implementing APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on development experience with .NET and/or Node.js.
• Solid experience with React and Next.js.
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Comfort integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs, JSON data, and authorization mechanisms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern deployment workflows.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable, well-structured technical solutions.
• A working style grounded in ownership, collaboration, clear communication, and high standards.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data warehouse or lakehouse platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Event Grid, Event Hubs, Kafka).
• Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of OAuth2, Azure AD, JWT, and identity/access management.
• Experience contributing to design systems or shared component libraries.
• Understanding of SSR, ISR, and static site generation in Next.js.
• Awareness of performance optimization and SEO considerations in modern web applications.
