Senior Software Developer, DevEx Acceleration

About the Role & Team

As part of the theScore team, you will be working with a team of smart, friendly, and dedicated Engineers, Product Managers and Designers working together to deliver some of the best apps the market has to offer.  We are looking for engineers for our DevEx Acceleration team, to be the front line for improving local development experience and optimizing the inner dev loop.  This team is focused on reducing time-to-first-commit for new engineers and improving the lives of existing engineers. This team will deliver a best in class development experience - making it easy to set up projects locally, easy to code on multiple microservices and client applications together, and providing all the tools engineers need to iterate on code quickly and effortlessly.

About the work

As a Senior Software Developer on the DevEx Acceleration team, you will:

• Help design, build and iterate on our local development experience, especially focused around backend applications.
• Build elegant CLIs and other internal tools for developers in the organization.
• Work with developers across the organization to find pain points and provide solutions that will make the developer experience delightful.
• Experiment with new technologies that will make it easier for developers to build backend applications.
• Participate in the design, architecture, and delivery of new features in a collaborative agile/scrum environment.
• Collaborate with the team to define and improve our internal style guide, maintainability and best practices documentation.
• Provide mentorship to Junior and Intermediate developers.

About You

• Solid background in computer science, including experience across backend, frontend, and DevOps.
• You are prepared to play a technical leadership role on the team. This position requires an ownership mentality, not just great coding skills.
• You are passionate about software craftsmanship and building developer tools.
• You pay attention to the details.
• You think deeply about systems and can debug problems that span systems.
• You’re a curious person who loves to deep dive into the internals of different libraries.
• You love to keep up to date with technology and sharing what you learn with teammates.
