BAE Systems is looking for a Component Commodity Engineer (CCE) to provide technical leadership support in the Development, Qualification, transfer to Production and Performance of Sensors, Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products, Flight Control Panels and Custom Assemblies. These products are used in BAE Systems Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) and Power and Propulsion Solutions businesses.
Controls and Avionics Solutions provides flight and mission-critical products to more than 170 commercial and military customers around the world. CAS products include fly-by-wire flight controls, pilot controls (inceptor systems), full authority digital engine controls (FADEC), power management systems, flight deck systems, cabin management systems, weapon controls, autonomous flight systems, and mission systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft manufacturers. Power and Propulsion Systems provides electric power and propulsion solutions for transit, heavy duty commercial vehicles, military electric solutions for wheeled and tracked vehicles and electrification of marine vessels.

Your job responsibility and engineering activities include, but are not limited to the following:
Review technical system requirements and produce component-level technical documents, specifications and standards.
You will perform engineering technical guidance for product related technical issues that are component related through Development, Qualification, put in Production and Service.
Provide engineering oversight to assure that updates to the product meet the original product specifications and defined system-level requirements.
Lead production, service center and suppliers in the identification and Root-Cause-Corrective-Action (RCCA) investigations of test fallout and yield concerns
Monitor field performance.
Prepare, support and/or review documentation for component design updates in accordance with established component and systems development processes and procedures.
Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards.
Support and or lead various specialty-engineering tasks; such as Reliability, Maintainability & Availability analysis, Integrated Logistics Support, Failure Analysis and Safety Engineering tasks.
Verify and validate aspects of component designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering plus 4 years of experience working with sensor technologies or equivalent experience.
A strong desire to solve technical and/or process problems
Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation.
Demonstrated experience providing technical and team leadership
Experience in integration and verification testing of electronic equipment including hardware/software.
Ability to review and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and documents
Supporting system and/or product integration
Team leader and/or player and resourceful in achieving goals
Interested candidates should exhibit strong communication skills both written and oral, sound judgment, initiative and self-motivation, and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Solid communication, teamwork and integration skills will be required to work effectively across functions at multiple levels. The ability to manage time effectively while dealing with a variety of issues in a dynamic environment will be key to the success of this individual.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering and 10+ years of experience in sensors technology.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
