Position Overview
SDET team is an integral part of the overall feature development process. We collaborate with our engineers, product managers and designers to help ship features faster with utmost quality to our customers. As we speed up our product development, we are looking to hire a talented Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who can help advocate for our customer’s experience, increase the velocity of our product and engineering teams and instill best practices in functional and automation testing.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model which is performing functional testing of the application as well as building automation around the developed functionality

  • Self driven in making quality decision for the product. Prioritize the tasks to ensure that the product release goes smoothly through a proper quality check.

  • Develop and own all manual test plans, automated tests, tooling and integration with the product development process for a specific business area of the application

  • Document, communicate, and prioritize bugs across the application. Ensure stakeholders are kept informed across different teams. Lead the scrum teams in bug bashes before feature release

  • Perform functional testing of new and existing features in an agile development environment with shorter sprint cycles

  • Identify automatable scenarios and design automation tests to support faster release of code in a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment

  • Improve the code quality by implementing new ideas, organizing tests, building reusable components and refactoring existing tests to build reliable automation tests

  • Perform peer review of automation tests and suggest ways to improve code quality and automation test coverage

  • Quickly adapt to learn new tools and technologies and have an attitude to share learnings and challenges with peer team members to foster a great working environment

  • Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to define quality. Clearly communicate delivery risks and suggest the best approach to resolve the issues

  • Think of ways how the overall quality work could be quantified by maintaining different metrics and dashboard for reporting purpose to upper management.

  • Advocate for quality standards and ensure the quality process is followed consistently as per organizational best practice guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field

  • Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages - Java, JavaScript, Python, C++ etc

  • Deep hands on expertise in writing optimized automation code using any of the automation frameworks such as - cypress.io, Playwright, Jest, Selenium, appium

  • Working experience in git based repositories like GitHub or GitLab to be able to manage and review code

  • Experience in integrating automation test framework with CI/CD infrastructure such as CircleCI or Jenkins to be able to run the automation jobs in CI environment

  • Experience in building scalable testing infrastructure to be able to run automation tests in parallel environments for efficient execution

  • Knowledge of working in Visual automation tools like Applitools or Percy is a plus

  • Knowledge of working in Mobile automation like appium is a plus

  • Knowledge of working in API automation is a plus

  • Knowledge of working in Load/Performance test is a plus

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $79,500 and $116,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
