About this role 

Are you passionate about building technology that powers a global delivery network? Our Logistics Engineering department is at the heart of the Just Eat Takeaway.com experience, responsible for the entire delivery lifecycle of millions of orders and supporting our vast network of couriers.

The Courier Onboarding team plays a critical role in this mission.  Courier Onboarding is the front-door for new applicants around the globe interested in joining JET’s contractor-model courier network.  These first experiences we provide to prospective couriers are crucial to guide them through the onboarding process and start delivering as a part of JET’s courier network.

Location: Remote Canada 

Reporting to: Technology Manager

Recipe for Success:

While we don’t expect you to have a background in everything we use, here are some of the things we feel are important:

  • Experience in component-based frameworks/libraries (e.g. React.js, Vue.js, Angular, Svelte). While these are all great, we use React.js on our stack.

  • Experience with state management and effect management systems(Redux, Redux-Saga and xState. We're currently using Redux.

  • Experience with CSS pre-processor languages (e.g. SASS/SCSS) and/or CSS-in-JS libraries.

  • Experience in quality assurance and testing best practices

  • Experience building large-scale responsive and accessible web applications.

  • Experience in REST principles and API consumption.

  • Front-end development tools, including Webpack, Babel and Yarn.

  • Build application with Internationalization and localization requirements

  • Experience with  Version Control (Git) and related tools such as Github and Bitbucket.

  • Experience with agile processes (continuous development, delivery and improvement).

  • NodeJS (Servers/lambdas/scripts)

  • Github Actions

  • Docker

  • Cypress/Playwright E2E testing

  • AI Coding assistance

  • TypeScript and type systems

  • GraphQL

  • NextJS

  • Automated testing

  • AWS (CloudFront/Lambda/ECS)

  • Datadog and Sentry

Skills:
  • Ability to deliver best patterns and practices to solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Good problem solving skills.

  • Experience in a fast paced agile e

  • Attention to detail.

  • Mentor team members on best practices and new technologies
