What you’ll do  

We are taking our iconic brand to new heights with a marketing program.  Join our team and you will be a part of our group selecting innovative and inspirational products for our flyer that our customers will fall in love with and drive CTR (Canadian Tire Retail) sales and profitability.  Our CTR flyer is the most read general merchandise flyer in the country and drives over 40% of our total sales volumes. As Senior Promotional Planner:

  • You will be accountable for selecting product offers for the CTR flyer.

  • Responsible for analyzing existing assortment /newly introduced products, Merchandising briefs and category strategy to understand any seasonal changes that should be incorporated into content selection decisions.

  • Decide anchor weeks based on calendar events, competitor activity, IEP’s, destination guide and seasonality and select product and price for all promotional items in flyer by analyzing historical sales, price sensitivity, competitor sales while ensuring products adhere to flyer/page theme and adjacencies.

  • Using strong analytical skills to assimilate detailed financial information to enable you to optimize the seasonal forecast roll-up and identify gaps in POS /margin to determine changes required.

  • Additional responsibilities also include validating content during flyer production, managing in season late changes, leading weekly and seasonal post mortems and analyzing sales and competitor information.

  • You have the ability to effectively balance art and science when selecting content 

  • You evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions

Our typical hiring range is between $64,000.00 and $106,000.00 CAD Annual. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
