What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Director, People, Culture and Brand Shared Services PMO, the Senior Project Manager plays a key role in delivering the projects and strategic initiatives within the People, Culture & Brand (PC&B) portfolio. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with in PC&B, including senior executives for the delivery of small, medium and large-scale projects. You will have a high level of interaction with Technology partners, business partners and with management of internal and external groups.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Project implementation lead – Lead and manage often large and complex projects, ensuring the project deliverables meet expectations. Prepare project plans to manage the timely delivery of Business Requirements, Use Cases, Training and other business project deliverables. Lead the identification and documentation of business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications and use cases. Manage changes to scope and potential project impacts.

  • Control projects – Following CIBC methodology, conduct regular scheduled status reviews, provide business guidance, identify deviations to work plan and recommend corrective action, identify and rectify potential issues and constraints. Work close with Technology PMs to ensure technology deliverables are completed on time. Communicate across many business unit teams regarding project objectives, and manage client expectations. Verify requirements against industry, financial and regulatory standards and resolve issues through meetings with various departments. Identify, document, and prioritize business issues and alternatives.

  • Develop and maintain processes Build and maintain core knowledge of CIBC HR processes. Maintain the intellectual property of CIBC through thorough documentation. Ensure resource capacity planning is managed for projects. Lead others in a matrix structure.
