This is an exciting opportunity to lead a project that will establish a new 90-room hospitality complex in a remote location, with a unique set of challenges to ensure successful go-live operations at the start of the dry season.
This is a 12-month maximum-term position.
What will you be doing?
- Strategic project governance & delivery – Control schedule, scope, budget, risks, and dependencies for complex hospitality operations, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of all project components.
- Cross-functional solution design – Work closely with RAC teams and external stakeholders to design and implement strategies for successful operationalisation. Coordinate across multiple streams including brand and member experience, technology, recruitment, training, procurement, and go-live readiness.
- Stakeholder management & collaboration – Lead communication with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, people teams, and key partners such as landscapers and development teams, to ensure seamless handover and smooth transition to operations.
- Handover & operational transition – Oversee the takeover of the Coral Bay accommodation site, and in the future, RAC Albany including managing the acquisition, settlement, and handover process. Ensure proper documentation and planning for the handover to operations. Manage the complexities of a regional resort, from logistics to staffing, training, and procurement.
- Risk, compliance & quality assurance – Identify potential risks unique to hospitality operations in remote locations, such as logistics challenges and shifting construction timelines, and develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
- Executive reporting & governance – Prepare and present regular status reports and Steering Committee presentations, offering clear insights and actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
- Change leadership & business readiness – Lead the change management process, overseeing communications, training, onboarding, and go-live activities. Support transition plans to ensure that all aspects of the resort’s operations are fully integrated into day-to-day business activities.
- Team leadership & people management – Motivate project teams and collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and a successful launch. Manage the challenges of differing priorities among team members and external partners.
What are we looking for in you?
- Hospitality experience – Experience in opening or managing large hotel or hospitality complexes, including the operational complexities of remote resort locations.
- Experience with regional resorts – Familiarity with the nuances of managing a regional resort or remote location, particularly during the opening and transition phases.
- Leadership & stakeholder management – Proven ability to manage diverse teams, stakeholders and navigate the complex logistics and unique challenges of opening a hospitality venue.
- Strong communication & problem-solving skills – Ability to coordinate across different teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Flexibility & adaptability – Experience in managing projects with evolving timelines, particularly in construction and operational readiness. This role will also see you based between West Perth and Ningaloo Reef, so ability to travel and live away from Perth is essential.
