Your role at Clorox:

Lead small to medium sized capital projects from feasibility to execution and close-out. Plans, executes and coordinates contractors and vendors that execute the project. Acts as the single point of contact for all project related topics. Coordinates with operations and users the execution of projects in the manufacturing environment, ensuring safety as the number one priority.
Working in a participative team based environment, using Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and principles, the Project Specialist leads the design and implementation of site based capital and manufacturing improvement projects. Participates on teams as an expert in the discipline. Evaluates the feasibility of manufacturing, packaging, and process systems improvements and modifications. Through leadership and influence will lead project teams to deliver capital projects, manufacturing process improvements, and solve manufacturing problems.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and oversee the execution of capital and/or non-capital projects following the “One Right Way” Clorox methodology, prioritizing safety, quality, cost and schedule
  • Create documentation for project funding, including cost estimates, scope definition and management presentations
  • Collaborate with corporate engineering and outside equipment manufacturers, following Clorox standards and legal requirements to ensure plant requirements are considered in designs
  • Use of tools and methodologies to ensure early involvement of operations in projects
  • Update drawings after project completion
  • Support start-up leader for training and documentation for technology transfer and training to users
  • Participate in department meetings and lead project meetings
  • Forecast capital projects as per Clorox best practices and forecast fiscal year capital plans, expense and asset disposals
  • Responsible to follow the One Right Way Engineering practices, deliverables and coordinate efforts related to Engineering with outside contractors, Construction, Procurement.
  • Support site business goals regarding Safety, Quality, Operating Costs, Energy Conservation, Environmental, Stewardship and quarterly capital cash-flow
  • Actively involved in Communities of Practice, contributing to the organization’s growth by supporting developing standards

What we look for:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering or equivalent working experience.
  • 3-5  years in a Manufacturing environment involving Consumer Packaged Goods
  • EIC experience is an asset

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to think strategically and communicate on a cross-functional basis, balancing long-term strategic issues and short-term tactical issues
  • Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead teams, implement significant initiatives and drive toward “world class” performance
  • Demonstrates flexibility in a changing work environment, and demonstrates confidence and personal drive to obtain desired results
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Proficient in the use of SAP S4
