Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Manager. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of program management, SAFe Agile methodologies, and experience managing complex solution dependencies across multiple teams and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

ETE Solution Owner (60%)

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, facilitate solution discussions, and map portfolio dependencies based on Epic scope.
  • Work closely with RTE/STE for dependency management, release coordination, and environment/test strategy.
  • Partner with Product Managers/Lead Product Managers to align the value stream vision and roadmap.
  • Manage solution dependencies across teams and trains by coordinating with Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, Solution Train Engineers, and ART teams.
  • Leverage domain and platform knowledge to oversee solutioning processes and inform architects of dependencies and technical constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with security and design requirements by working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide input on managing and prioritizing work at the value stream level to support solution delivery.
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and work with product management and delivery teams on release definition and management activities.
  • Understand solution implications on impacted platforms and support overall integration and delivery.
  • Coordinate activities of all delivery teams involved in the Epic, regardless of Value Stream alignment or delivery methodology.
  • Support Value Stream (VS) leadership, Epic Owners, and ART Financial Managers, participating in classification reviews with Finance.
  • Provide status reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.

Release Train Engineer (RTE) – API Platform ART (40%)

  • Facilitate key Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Retrospectives.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks within the ART, ensuring timely and effective mitigation strategies.
  • Remove impediments that hinder ART progress, ensuring teams can focus on delivering value.
  • Assist in the management of the release train, including planning, execution, and release activities.
  • Coordinate with other teams, including Scrum Masters and other Release Train Engineers.
  • Support economic decision-making and resource management.
  • Track, measure, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to define effective goals and manage the Program Backlog.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Program Management, Agile methodologies, and SAFe practices.
  • Proven experience as an RTE and/or Solution Owner in a SAFe Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
  • Hands-on experience managing solution dependencies across multiple teams and trains.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira, Rally, or equivalent platforms.
  • SAFe certification (SAFe RTE, SAFe Program Consultant, or SAFe Agilist) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
  • Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Location: Toronto, ON
