About the role:

We’re seeking a Senior Product Designer who’s passionate about creating seamless and empowering user experiences for data management, modeling, visualization, and analysis.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will be pivotal in shaping strategic directions and crafting the vision for areas of our product, ensuring that every design element is useful, usable, desirable, and engaging.

Working closely with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional partners, you will be a key player in pushing the product forward. Your efforts will focus on creating user-centric experiences and turning innovative ideas into reality to shape the future of our product.

Who you are:

  • You have a strong product sense and excel in transforming complex concepts into intuitive, engaging experiences. Your proficiency in crafting refined user experiences positions you to lead (in collaboration with PM and Eng) and significantly shape product areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that resonate with users.
  • Your intellectual curiosity fuels a continuous search for innovative solutions, thriving within cross-functional teams. Your collaboration, combined with your problem-solving skills, enables you to champion user empathy, and effectively influence internal teams to adopt user-centric approaches.
  • As an exceptional storyteller, you leverage narratives to articulate design concepts and user experiences to drive product vision and execution. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly makes you instrumental in delighting customers and delivering meaningful value through your designs.

What you’ll do:

  • Ownership and collaboration: Lead the design thinking and delivery process from start to end. Turn insights from user research into ideas, sketches, and prototypes. Bring them to life by shipping products and features that make CaptivateIQ better. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to drive the product vision and experience.
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Independently manage complex projects, seamlessly navigating from problem identification to solution delivery. Excel in clarifying ambiguities, bringing focus and direction to challenging scenarios.
  • Expertise: Be the expert in your product area, excelling in all facets of design—visual, system, and interaction—and leveraging your expertise to explore, evaluate, and select the most impactful design solutions. Be highly efficient, and excellent at balancing effort vs reward. Have the aptitude to go wide and explore, and narrow in on the best path forward.
  • Strategic Vision: Collaborate with the EPD (Engineering, Product, Design) team to contribute to and align with the product roadmap. Advocate for your design strategy, ensuring it supports broader organizational goals and communicates the rationale behind design decisions.
  • Partnership: Forge strong partnerships with Product Management and Engineering, co-leading initiatives to ensure cohesive and impactful product outcomes.

What you bring (job requirements):

  • Experience & Track Record: 7+ years of experience designing digital products. Proven success in working with engineering and product management to ship successful products to users.
  • Design Mastery: Sharp attention to detail and mastery over your craft: visual design, interaction design, system design, and prototyping. Experience working on complex systems, translating them into useful, usable, and desirable experiences. Proficient in managing the design process (end-to-end) from concept through implementation.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Ability to collaborate and partner strategically with Product Management, and Engineering partners to drive and influence product decisions and direction. Demonstrated ability to advocate for end-users and integrate user feedback into designs.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple and complex projects on time.
  • Tools & Techniques: Fluent in Figma and other design/collaboration tools. Skilled in storytelling, wireframing, and prototyping to convey design concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Professional Qualities: Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Adaptable, with a can-do attitude, and comfortable in rapid iteration cycles.

Benefits:

  • (US-ONLY) 100% of medical, dental, and vision covered including 75% for dependents
  • Flexible vacation days and quarterly mental health days so you can recharge
  • Enjoy a one-time expense on your 1-year work anniversary (to use for travel, home furnishings, fancy meal)
  • One time work from home stipend & annual stipends for professional development and caretaking
  • Virtual team lunches to keep you connected
  • (US-ONLY) 401k plan to participate in and save towards the future
  • Newest Apple products to help you do your best work
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to support and celebrate the shared identities and life experiences of communities within CaptivateIQ. ERGs directly support our company-wide DEI goals as a space for developing and retaining diverse talent
