About the Role & Team


The Penn Interactive team is at the center of a rapidly growing industry. We are the largest, most innovative provider of gaming entertainment in North America. From ESPN BET, iCasino, to lifestyle content through theScore, we deliver the experiences people want, how and where they want them. The Sportsbook Wagering team focuses on our core betting experiences and works hand in hand with the Sportsbook Engagement & Growth teams to drive retention and engagement with our products. In addition to our consumer betting apps the Wagering team also works closely with our internal operations teams and builds connections between products.  In this role you’ll play a crucial part in scaling our digital Sportsbook to new heights and providing our patrons with novel wagering features. Product designers are encouraged to push the boundaries of what’s currently in the market and always ask “how can we do this better?”.

 

About the Work

  • Work closely with other product designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to contribute to the product roadmap and lead the team in solving user problems from ideation to execution.
  • Follow our double-diamond design playbook and various frameworks such as Jobs to Be Done (JTBD) to create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, hi-fi’s etc.
  • Ship aesthetically pleasing user interfaces that delight and add value to our internal teams.
  • Leverage and evolve our design system in order to make our design team more efficient.
  • Effectively communicate and articulate your thoughts on your designs and processes in order to justify your design decisions.
  • Be open and receptive to feedback, exploring iterations, and providing objective feedback for other product designers.
  • Be a strong advocate of our design process and work closely with partners in UXR and Design Ops.
  • Always thinking about how to improve team and organizational processes.

About You

  • A strong portfolio showing your process of working through full end-to-end experiences, design thinking, and using research to drive decisions.
  • You have experience working cross-functionally in order to discover user problems and frame them to work on the right impactful solutions.
  • You’re comfortable working autonomously and proactively, while also knowing when to bring others in to move things forward quickly.
  • You have excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and you’re always considering the business side of design to further the strategy of the company.
  • You elevate the design team through the way you approach design - from actively seeking feedback, communicating designs, and setting the standard for execution.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
  • An excellent understanding of iOS and Android patterns and conventions.
  • Nice to have: comfort with advanced prototyping platforms and tools (Framer, Origami).
  • Nice to have: Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
