Position Title: Sr. Procurement Specialist
Department: EQS
Compensation: $101,000 - $145,000 + annual bonus (paid in local currency; range varies by location)
Reports To: Technical Project Manager
Location: Kitchener, ON (Onsite)

About the Role:

The Sr. Procurement Specialist will be responsible for preparing and coordinating procurement related activities in accordance with the prescribed procedures to support the development and implementation of energy management projects. Experience with large/utility scale software and hardware related procurement processes, the ability to interpret, draft and manage contracts and experience with SAP or similar ERP’s is essential. Knowledge of energy storage systems would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding suppliers, including execution of non-disclosure agreements and anti-bribery and corruption forms.
  • Compiling, submitting and expediting RFP and RFQ packages for Energy Management System components such as servers, laptops, HMI, UPS, network switches etc. Maintaining proposal trackers.
  • Filing, normalizing and negotiating RFP and RFQ responses for EMS equipment and related suppliers and services.
  • Executing orders for miscellaneous supplies for company and project teams.
  • Maintaining procurement database.
  • Maintaining procurement related documentation, including vendor selection forms and purchase approvals.
  • Generating purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and stock transfer orders in SAP. • Managing and building supplier relationships.
  • Managing, drafting and negotiating contracts, exhibits, change orders and amendments with suppliers.
  • Preparing and submitting contract summaries for management approval.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum capabilities will include the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from a university or college.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience negotiating and executing high value contracts.
  • Experience with PR/PO/STO ERP functions is required.
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills (including oral, written and visual)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally with colleagues as well as externally with suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; Acute awareness and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Technical proficiency in Smartsheet and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Project.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is key to this position. • Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) if required.
  • Travel required up to 50% of the time.
