Paralucent is looking for a Senior Power BI Developer / Consultant for a 3-month engagement supporting the design and development of a mortgage portfolio dashboard for a financial services client. The dashboard will support executive reporting, portfolio analysis, drill-down views, dynamic filtering, visual analysis, and knowledge transfer to the client’s internal team.
The Senior Power BI Developer / Consultant will support the design, build, and handover of a Power BI dashboard that enables mortgage portfolio analysis.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboard pages aligned to the agreed scope and available data.

  • Build an executive summary landing page and portfolio analysis views.

  • Create drill-down reporting to support current month account-level analysis.

  • Develop dynamic filters and visuals across agreed mortgage portfolio attributes, such as geography, loan-to-value buckets, insured status, balances, and delinquency measures.

  • Support heat map style analysis and colour-coded ratio or scoring views where feasible within Power BI and the available data.

  • Work with aggregate historical portfolio data and current month account-level data provided by the client.

  • Advise on practical data model structure, report performance, usability, and maintainability.

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to confirm priority visuals and simplify requirements where needed to fit the timeline and budget.

  • Provide walkthroughs and knowledge transfer to client team members so they can maintain and update the dashboard after the engagement.

  • Work within client access, onboarding, workspace, and technology constraints.

  • Identify risks, dependencies, and assumptions that may affect delivery.

The consultant will support the following deliverables:

Working Power BI dashboard prototype or report.

Portfolio analysis views, including executive summary and drill-down views.
Knowledge transfer walkthrough covering dashboard structure, key measures, refresh/update approach, and maintainability considerations.
Working Style

The ideal candidate is a senior, hands-on Power BI developer who can move quickly, communicate clearly, and balance technical depth with practical delivery. They should be comfortable working in a hybrid client environment, asking the right questions, and helping the client team understand how to maintain the dashboard after delivery.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Power BI dashboard development experience.

  • Advanced experience with Power BI data modelling, DAX, measures, calculations, and report optimization.

  • Experience designing executive dashboards and analytical reporting views.

  • Ability to create intuitive visualizations, drill-down reports, slicers, filters, and interactive dashboard experiences.

  • Experience working with large datasets and performance considerations in Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of data quality, data readiness, and practical reporting constraints.

  • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to clarify dashboard needs and translate them into practical report designs.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with client and internal teams.

  • Comfortable supporting knowledge transfer and handover walkthroughs.

Beneficial Experience:

  • Mortgage portfolio, lending, credit risk, delinquency, or financial services reporting experience.

  • Experience with loan-level or account-level financial data.

  • Experience building dashboards that include delinquency measures, balance analysis, concentration views, or portfolio segmentation.

  • Experience working in banking or regulated enterprise environments.

  • Familiarity with client onboarding, access management, and enterprise reporting governance.
