Guru Studio's dedicated team is passionate about bringing inspired character driven stories to screens around the world. Our award winning and internationally renowned Toronto animated entertainment company is looking for a Senior Pipeline Technical Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the development, maintenance and optimization of Guru’s USD pipeline extending existing assets workflows into Houdini look development, lighting and rendering
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Junior TDs
  • Define Guru’s pipeline strategies and goals
  • Provide innovative strategies and solutions to enhance Guru’s pipeline to ensure Guru remains at the forefront of our industry
  • Maintain and extend existing software solutions to provide support for Shotgun automation, Deadline, GitLab, and statistics aggregation
  • Assist with problem-solving any day-to-day pipeline-related issues that arise during the course of the Production
  • Create/update/add pipeline tools to enhance and streamline new and existing workflows, with a focus on assisting artist workflows and automation
  • Create/Update documentation, including training materials and mentoring, to enhance skill-sets within Guru
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IT to problem-solve issues  and strategize/implement possible solutions
  • When possible, attend Siggraph and/or other conferences relevant to the role to ensure Guru is always aware of and competitive with industry standards and best practice

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience
  • Previous experience developing for multiple USD pipelines
  • Experience with ASWF Asset spec will be considered an advantage
  • Experience developing for Unreal Engine will be considered an advantage

Contract duration: 1 year with possibility of extension

Expected compensation: $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience and role requirements
