As an engineer within Nokia’s Optical Engineering Team focused on the next generation transponder/muxponder product family that is poised to transform how signals are transmitted across the network, you will work closely with global cross-functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW, to optimize performance of client and line side optics. You will support full integration of the line modules on various product platforms and assist product teams to drive product cost and performance.
 

Responsibilities
  • Devise test plans to validate optical subsystem performance
  • Develop automated test platforms
  • Execute design validation/testing
  • Review and analyze test results to ensure product quality
  • Work with Design teams on product evolution.
     
Qualifications

You have:

  • 1 – 2 years of engineering experience with PhD in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
  • 2 – 3 years of engineering experience with MS Degree  in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
  • Experience integrating various adjacent disciplines for product development, including calibration automation, test automation, electrical, FPGA, FW, SW
  • Familiarity with optical communication systems and linear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoffs, such as crosstalk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc.
  • Strong Python programming skills 
  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details 
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Excellent people skills, and being a team player
  •  

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Technical competency in Coherent Optical Communication technology, Digital Signal Processing, and high-speed optical signal generation and detection
  • Familiarity with standard industry design validation processes and product life cycle
