What you will do:
The Senior Online Assortment Analyst plays a critical role in driving strategic growth and operational excellence for Canadian Tire’s Online Assortment Program (Extended Aisle/Drop Ship). This position executes day-to-day operations and goes beyond to lead high-impact initiatives, manage expansion in priority areas, and provide guidance to analysts. The Senior Analyst will act as a subject matter expert, influencing assortment strategy, vendor partnerships, and process optimization through advanced assortment analysis and leadership.
Product & Vendor Onboarding/ Management:
Manage online-only product and vendor onboarding for CTR’s Online Assortment.
Facilitate assortment updates, product style setup, buyer approval coordination, product classification, and pricing.
Ensure timely execution of onboarding processes with high accuracy.
Build strong, long-term partnerships with vendors and ensure smooth communication.
Assortment Performance Analysis & Recommendations:
Collaborate with buying teams to understand assortment strategies and business objectives.
Monitor market and industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to stay informed and support strategic decision-making.
Conduct regular reviews with buyers to present analyses on assortment performance.
Utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities for assortment improvement.
Develop actionable recommendations for enhancing online and inline product assortments.
Strategic Expansion & Special Projects
Manage online assortment expansion in high-priority areas.
Lead generation of new opportunities and oversee special projects that drive online assortment growth.
Investigate and evaluate new product categories and vendor partnerships to support long-term business objectives.
Leadership & Guidance
Oversee workload prioritization for analysts and provide mentorship and guidance to ensure team efficiency and development.
Act as a key liaison between cross-functional teams, influencing decision-making and driving alignment on assortment strategies.
Process Optimization & Automation
Champion automation initiatives and advanced technology adoption to streamline onboarding and reporting processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process and system integrations.
What you bring :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strategic mindset with a customer-centric approach to assortment planning.
Experience in merchandising or project management in e-commerce, retail, or supply chain.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to query data sources and summarize findings into actionable insights.
Expertise in Microsoft Excel (Macros, Pivots, VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint. *Proficiency in Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, Microsoft Access, and related programming platforms is considered a valued asset.
Strong understanding of emerging technologies aimed at streamlining workflows, minimizing manual effort, and boosting efficiency through automation.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence without authority.
Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high levels of organization.
Post-secondary education in Business, Retail, Supply Chain or related fields.
E-commerce/ digital courses or experience.
Experience in category and/or product management, dropship or marketplace.
Knowledge of drop shipping operations and e-commerce platforms.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and ThoughtSpot.

Our typical hiring range is between $53,000 and $88,000 Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
