As a Senior NMS Software Developer, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of Lightspeed's Network Management and OSS platforms, enabling service fulfillment, assurance, automation, and observability across a carrier-grade LEO satellite network. You will leverage modern software engineering practices, cloud-native technologies, and AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop NMS/OSS applications supporting service fulfillment, assurance, inventory, fault, performance, and configuration management.
  • Develop model-driven management solutions using YANG, NETCONF/RESTCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and related standards.
  • Build network automation, telemetry, monitoring, and workflow orchestration capabilities.
  • Integrate NMS/OSS platforms with network elements, EMS systems, inventory platforms, service orchestration systems, and operational tools.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex software and network issues in large-scale distributed environments.
  • Design and maintain automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment solutions.
  • Contribute to system architecture, interface definitions, security standards, and CONOPS.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools and engineering automation solutions to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience developing OSS, NMS, EMS, network automation, or telecommunications management systems.
  • Expert-level software development skills with a proven track record delivering large-scale production systems using Go, Python, Java, or similar languages.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Solid knowledge of NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC, YANG, OpenAPI, and API-driven architectures.
  • Strong understanding of segment routing, and network telemetry.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native architectures, DevOps, and CI/CD.
  • Proven experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or equivalent
