Hi! We’re The Heist, the motion design, live action, and post production studio within Thinkingbox, the Brief-to-Built agency.
We bring together directors, designers, animators, editors, and technologists to create work that moves. From brand films to broadcast spots to social campaigns and experiential content, our team blends craft and curiosity to push ideas further. Across our studios, collaboration is real, feedback is open, and culture matters. We take the work seriously. Ourselves, a little less so.
The Opportunity
As a member of a small yet agile animation team you're going to have your hands and creative say on all things motion. Our diverse projects are going to push your creative boundaries on work from design to animation. You’re going to be going from sketch to animation on micro-content campaigns, creating 2D and 3D (leaning 2D) assets to help realize AR projects, motion designing for projects ranging from smaller social media campaigns to short animated films.
What You'll Be Doing
- Breaking down scripts into clear and succinct storyboards that convey motion, and refined styleframes that show creative direction.
- Work alongside the motion design team and helm projects to create considered and nuanced animation.
- Pick up new processes and workflows to design and create animation across a myriad of styles.
- Take an active leadership role on your projects and be clear and concise with feedback to your teammates.
- Create assets and animation (leaning 2D) within guidelines or art direction set.
- Offer creative input on projects during preproduction and production.
- Staying organized.
- Advise and accurately cost tasks and projects when required.
What You'll Bring
- A portfolio that showcases amazing motion design across a variety of styles
- 4-7+ years of working experience in a motion design capacity
- 1+ year in a leadership / senior capacity.
- Have a high degree of comfort working in Cinema 4D and Redshift.
- Mastery of the Adobe Suite (AE, Premiere, PS, Illustrator).
- Have a strong grasp of the animation pipeline.
- Demonstrate a strong design taste that serves to compliment your motion design chops.
- Working experience of XParticles, Marvelous Designer and/or Houdini is a big bonus.
- Working knowledge of Substance Painter is a bonus.
- A passion to further your skill sets driven by your own curiosity.
- An ability to time manage and approach creative or technical roadblocks with a solution driven approach.
