Mandate:

The Senior Manager, Transformation & Strategic Initiatives leads high‑priority transformation efforts, including the adoption and operationalization of artificial intelligence within the Wealth Management Governance & Controls team. This role is accountable for translating strategy into execution by driving change, operational improvements, and cross‑functional initiatives that strengthen performance, effectiveness, and long‑term capability.

This is a senior individual‑contributor and people‑leadership role for an experienced manager who can operate at the intersection of strategy, AI/automation, and change management. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders and teams to design, delivery and implement strategic priorities, including AI initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of strategic and operational transformation initiatives within the department
  • Identify and prioritize high‑impact AI use cases and opportunities to improve processes, operating models, and ways of working
  • Serve as the change leader for AI‑driven transformation within the Wealth Management Governance & Controls team
  • Translate departmental priorities into clear roadmaps, initiatives, and execution plans
  • Manage a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring clear scope, sequencing, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Act as the change leader for departmental transformation initiatives
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and execution discipline
  • Work collaboratively with a broad range of partners and stakeholders
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • Define and track success metrics for initiatives (e.g., efficiency, effectiveness, capacity, quality, risk reduction)
  • Monitor progress and outcomes, using data and feedback to adjust course as needed
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in business transformation, strategic initiatives, program delivery, or change leadership
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives
  • Strong experience translating strategy into execution and sustainable operational outcomes
  • Practical understanding of AI concepts and applications
  • Proven ability to drive adoption and embed change, not just deliver plans or documents
  • Strong executive‑level communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
