What you’ll be doing

Marketing Data and Advanced Analytics (MDAA) is responsible for CIBC’s direct marketing programs. The MDAA Analytics group is responsible for supporting direct marketing efforts by driving and creating a culture of data-driven decision making across the team. The group provides analysis and reporting to enables direct marketing strategy by engaging in sales lead evaluation, marketing campaign measurement, and client centric analyses.

Reporting to the Director Analytics, the Senior Manager Analytics will be an individual contributor on the team. As a senior member of the MDAA team, the candidate will be accountable for supporting through analytics and consulting the needs of one/more of our Marketing stakeholders, Lines Of Business and/or Channel partners. The candidate will also be expected to own engagement for high-impact internal and pan enterprise, cross-functional initiatives such as Market Mix Modelling, Customer Life Cycle Management, Data Strategy, Customer Segmentation, etc.

With  a focus on value creation, the candidate is expected to lead and execute the integration of analytical results into business processes to drive business value. The Senior Manager Analytics will play a leadership and mentorship role on the Campaign Effectiveness team.  It is expected that the candidate will build and maintain good working relationship with other MDAA and Marketing departments and business partners.

How you’ll succeed

  • Thought Leaders – The bank is transforming and marketing is one of the key functions which are experiencing a paradigm shift with near real time , highly contextual and personalized offers and messages aligned to a clients journey being the new norm. You will be a thought leader with knowledge and experience in working with new age marketing tools and techniques and a strong ability to lead, drive and advocate change.
  • Analysis and Reporting – Building meaningful analyses and reports around performance of marketing programs for our products , channels and marketing partners. Analyzing Marketing opportunity drivers for CIBC, relative to expected performance and providing insights to Marketing management. Tracking and analyzing of Marketing performance and behavior across all CIBC campaigns, products and channels. Forecasting Marketing performance based on historical data and anticipated business environment. Explaining unanticipated variations from expected Marketing performance and behaviors and providing recommendations to management. Supporting design, measurement and analysis of enterprise-wide strategic programs such as personalization and franchising, implementation of SFMC. Familiarity with data and analytics technology, such as knowledge of SQL, Oracle, SAS, Tableau, Python, R. Experience in data analysis and modelling. Strong storyboarding skills and ability to glean and communicate insights based on data and business context are must haves.
  • Relationship Building – Owning end to end a product and/or channel relationship by playing the role of a trusted consultant who truly understands priorities of our business partners and drivers of business and helps our business partners achieve goals laid out in their Multi-Year plans. Working in close cooperation with other Marketing teams Campaign Execution, Client offers and Market Research and communications, to further outcomes for partners. Participating, cooperating, and contributing to cross-functional project teams to drive process and performance improvements. Consulting with and mentoring internal and external sources, colleagues, and others to discuss information and best practices. Assisting in recruiting and developing talent for CIBC Marketing Analytics teams.
  • Strategy & Innovation – Proactively identifying process and practice improvement opportunities, building business cases, and influencing senior leaders to drive transformation. Identifying business problems where analytical techniques can be effectively applied to achieve core business objectives.  Developing Campaign Effectiveness (CE) vision and plans, to support Marketing management in identifying new marketing opportunities, optimizing Marketing resource utilization, and controlling expenditures (Return on Marketing Investment).

  • It is an asset to have a quantitative background with a B.Sc. or equivalent (MBA preferred).
