What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Manager, Finance Business Management, is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of business management activities across the Finance function. This includes driving program delivery, owning key governance and controls, optimizing processes (including AI-enabled solutions), and enabling the effective execution of Finance’s strategic priorities. The role requires an ambitious, self-starting professional who thrives when empowered to take initiative, acts with ownership, and delivers results in a fast-paced environment. You will communicate in meaningful ways, build strong relationships, and act as a catalyst for building a future-forward Finance team.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed
- Program Delivery - Support the planning, execution, and tracking of Finance priorities, initiatives, projects, and programs. Prepare and deliver clear, compelling presentations and reporting materials for leadership and stakeholders, leveraging advanced PowerPoint and communication skills.
- Governance, Controls & Compliance - Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of governance frameworks, internal controls, and compliance processes. Develop, document, and enhance internal procedures and practices to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
- Process Optimization & Innovation - Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement, automation, and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across Finance.
- Strategic Engagement & Communications - Plan and execute strategic engagement activities across Finance, including Finance Leadership Team (FLT) meetings and development. Ensure alignment across internal engagement and HR agendas, including relationship management and coordination with Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) and HR. Support communications and other business partners with outreach material review and communications to inform and enable strategic planning.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Business Management, or related roles within financial services. You will have demonstrated experience with project management, governance, and process controls, along with excellent oral and written communication skills, with advanced PowerPoint skills and a proven ability to prepare executive-level presentations and reports. You also have strong analytical, organizational, and research skills. It’s an asset if you have experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled solutions. Experience supporting investor relations or executive communications would be considered an asset as well.
