Senior Manager, Engagement & Communications
Thomson Reuters, a global business leader, is aiming to drive employee understanding, trust, advocacy, and action at scale. We’re at a defining moment in our company’s history, and this new role will play a critical part in our success.
As Senior Manager, Engagement & Communications, you will own the enterprise employee engagement strategy for Thomson Reuters globally. Sitting within the Marketing & Communications organization and reporting to the VP, Internal Communications, you will build the systems, frameworks, and programs that connect colleagues to TR's strategy, culture, tech and innovation story, and transformation priorities — not just inform them. You will move us from push communications to engagement journeys, from single sends to listening loops, and from campaigns to a managed enterprise outcome.
This is a builder's role. The right candidate brings strategic vision, strong cross-functional instincts, and the ability to translate ambiguity into disciplined, measurable action.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior Manager, Engagement & Communications, you will own:
Design and lead a holistic global employee engagement framework that integrates communications, experience design, channel innovation, cultural reinforcement, and colleague advocacy
Build and own an enterprise employee persona framework to ensure engagement strategies are segmented, relevant, and outcome-driven
Develop and manage internal listening channels — pulse surveys, qualitative sensing, Q&A trend analysis — and translate insights into actionable communications and engagement plans that leaders and the business can act on
Lead manager communications enablement: create toolkits, resources, talk tracks, and cascade systems that equip people managers to be effective engagement champions and strategy translators
Partner with key stakeholders across HR, Brand, Corporate Communications, and Strategy to embed TR's values and cultural priorities into all internal communications and employee experiences
Play a key role in defining, building, and launching TR’s new enterprise listening strategy and dashboard, including quarterly engagement insights readouts and follow-through tracking
Contribute to the annual engagement and leadership moments roadmap, including enterprise narrative cadence, transformation/change portfolio, and measurement plan
Champion AI-enabled workflows and standardization to drive efficiency, speed, and quality across engagement work
What Success Looks Like
An employee engagement framework is designed, socialized, and in market
A persona framework exists and is actively shaping how we sequence and target communications
A listening architecture is stood up with a formal cadence and leadership readout
Manager enablement toolkits are built and adopted as part of major enterprise moments
Engagement metrics — including OHI/pulse scores tied to clarity, trust, and manager effectiveness — show measurable improvement by Q4
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Manager, Engagement & Communications if your background includes:
Bachelor’s degree required
10+ years of progressive experience in employee engagement, internal communications, or organizational communications — with demonstrated success in a large, complex, global organization
2+ years of people management experience
Proven ability to build enterprise-wide engagement strategies from the ground up, not just execute programs
Strong background in employee listening, sentiment analysis, and translating data into leadership-ready insights and action plans
Experience designing manager enablement programs and cascade systems that actually get used
Employer branding and/or EVP activation experience strongly preferred
Deep cross-functional collaboration skills — comfortable working with and influencing HR, Brand, Legal, and senior business leaders
Strong written and verbal communications skills; able to write and edit at a high level across formats (frameworks, executive summaries, toolkits, presentations)
Familiarity with AI-enabled communications workflows and a genuine interest in using technology to increase impact and efficiency
Outcome-oriented mindset — you measure success by what employees understand, believe, and do, not by what gets sent
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving transformation environment; able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
