Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver complex client engagements across diversified industries, including real estate, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, construction, wholesale and retail, professional, transportation and warehousing, and power and utilities.
  • Act as a senior client-facing lead, building trusted relationships with executives, senior leaders, and key decision-makers across existing and prospective accounts.
  • Identify, develop, and nurture new client leads by leveraging market insight, industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and Optimus SBR’s broader network.
  • Support account management and account growth by identifying client needs, shaping opportunities, developing account plans, and positioning Optimus SBR’s capabilities in a relevant and practical way.
  • Lead business development activities, including client conversations, opportunity qualification, proposal development, pricing support, presentations, and pursuit strategy.
  • Translate complex client challenges into clear consulting opportunities, practical solutions, and executable project approaches.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality client deliverables, including strategy documents, operating model recommendations, transformation roadmaps, process improvement plans, implementation plans, executive presentations, and governance materials.
  • Provide strategic advisory support to clients navigating growth, operational change, business transformation, market expansion, process improvement, cost optimization, and organizational effectiveness challenges.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, resources, and client expectations to ensure high-quality delivery and strong client satisfaction.
  • Lead client workshops, executive meetings, stakeholder interviews, working sessions, and presentations with confidence, professionalism, and a strong understanding of client context.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to growing the Diversified Industries Group by contributing to market development, thought leadership, service offerings, and practice-building initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching and mentoring project teams. You will also be responsible for career management, professional development, and supporting employees through Optimus SBR’s Career Development Program (CDP).
  • Contribute to the life and culture of Optimus SBR.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, strategy, transformation, operations, account management, business development, or a related advisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading client-facing engagements and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and support growth of new client opportunities, including lead generation, opportunity shaping, proposal development, and account planning.
  • Experience working with or advising private-sector organizations in industries such as manufacturing, real estate, construction, energy, utilities, transportation, retail, mining, professional services, or other diversified industries.
  • Strong consulting toolkit, including problem structuring, research, analysis, facilitation, executive communication, project management, stakeholder management, and change leadership.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
  • Ability to develop practical recommendations that balance strategy, operations, people, process, technology, and implementation considerations.
  • Strong executive presence, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence, advise, and build credibility with senior clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project economics, scope, resources, timelines, risks, and client expectations.
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and growth-oriented mindset with a strong interest in helping build a growing practice area.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Required Education: Related university degree in business, commerce, economics, engineering, technology, operations, or another relevant field.
  • Preferred Education: Post-Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MPA or MPP), PMP, CPA, or additional professional (e.g., CPA, P.Eng., or R.N) or other designation (e.g., CPA, PMP, Lean, or PROSCI).

Compensation: Salary range is $148,000-$160,000 CAD

Salary ranges are designed to be competitive. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience and is subject to negotiation and subject to the candidate meeting the specific requirements or the role. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the top of the range, and pay can increase quickly for those who make a big impact in the role.
