We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to design, deploy, and own production machine learning models that drive Lime’s core pricing decisions. You’ll design and own production ML systems that make real-time pricing decisions under uncertainty—balancing rider demand, fleet supply, regulatory constraints, and business objectives across millions of rides. This role sits at the intersection of ML modeling, backend systems, and product decision-making, with direct ownership of models that ship, learn, and evolve in production. You’ll work on ambitious initiatives, scale successful products, and help define the future of pricing at Lime.
This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in Canada to maintain effective collaboration across teams.
What You'll Do:
Translate complex business problems into solutions that leverage end-to-end, production-level machine learning systems
Develop, iterate on, and productionize machine learning models, owning both model logic and supporting systems.
Implement and own backend pricing services and APIs consumed by the Lime App.
Architect and build scalable, reliable platforms and services that power pricing decisions and enable new product initiatives.
Build trust with leadership to influence the company's pricing strategy through reasoning and communication of model performance and technical vision
Collaborate with other Software Engineers and Data Scientists to raise the bar on ML standards and Engineering Excellence
Mentor and support engineers on the team, helping grow technical depth and develop future leaders.
About You:
6+ years of industry professional software engineering experience deploying machine learning methods at scale in production level systems.
2+ years of experience in Reinforcement Learning with expertise implementing customized reward functions, policy optimization, and multi-armed bandits.
2+ years of backend development experience (Ruby on Rails is a plus).
Fluency in Python and experience with modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and data tools (e.g. SQL, pandas, spark, airflow)
Experience with cloud computing services or platforms (preferably AWS).
Experience with both Snowflake and Sagemaker is a plus.
The base salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by objective factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
