Responsibilities
- This position is tailored for the individual in this role will be accountable for establishing and implementing industry best practices for front-end automation (primarily Web) throughout the entire organization.
- Responsible for implementing the TCOE Architect approved re-usable automation framework for testing web applications to support regression testing and new functionality testing.
- Formulate & document automation test plans, strategies, best practices & recommendations for delivery teams for testing their web applications & maintaining the automation around it.
- Should be able to make recommendations & implement solutions aimed at reducing the overall test execution time & reducing the efforts involved in test maintenance for the automation suites.
- Should be able to train & mentor the team members in adopting to the automation framework & understanding the overall CICD process & its implementation to establish Web Automation as a part of the Continuous Integration process.
- Should be knowledgeable in scaling the automation setup to cover multiple browsers for cross browser testing (preferably through Lambda Test) & Accessibility testing.
- Analyse and understands product’s environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested.
- Should be able to build roadmaps for automation adoption and can mentor teams in adopting it.
- Ensuring the scalability and maintainability of automated test suites including regular updates, refactoring, and of optimization test scripts to accommodate changes in mobile app and ensure consistency of tests.
- Analyse any existing web automation practices & provide feedback for improvements & guide the teams on avoiding pitfalls where automation could prove to be counterproductive.
- Should be able to work closely with the delivery teams in helping them with the initial automation adoption & setting up the processes such as PR review, adopting TCOE defined coding practices, etc.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or C#.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Software Quality assurance with at least 5+ years of experience in Web Automation.
- Should have experience in automated web testing and setting up web automation frameworks.
- Experience of working with Automated Web test Framework with Selenium.
- Design, implementation, and delivery of scalable, maintainable, configurable, and robust test automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of web technologies and protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON).
- Demonstrated experience in cross-browser testing, ensuring functional, usability, and accessibility aspects of web applications across multiple browsers and platforms.
- Proficiency in utilizing cloud-based platforms like BrowserStack or LambdaTest for executing both automated and manual testing of web applications.
- Understanding GitHub, Azure, or other Repos.
- Sound understanding working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment.
- Experience with mobile application testing, including functional and non-functional testing, UI testing, and compatibility testing.
- Solid understanding testing web applications, REST API’s (ideally using Postman).
- Mature understanding of the different types of testing that QA will engage in: Functional, Integration, Regression, User Acceptance, and Release Management.
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience of working with upcoming web automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright or similar frameworks is a big plus.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Prior experience of working in a Testing Centre of excellence or similar set up would be an added advantage.
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead or similar role in test automation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills working with diverse distributed teams located across the globe.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

The average annual base salary pay range for this role is between $130,000 - $150,000
