The candidate will collaborate with technology and business teams to design, develop, and support applications that meet business and technical requirements. The candidate will contribute to the implementation of system enhancements, process improvements, and application modernization initiatives while adhering to established architectural standards and development best practices.

The candidate will analyze business requirements, participate in technical design discussions, and develop scalable and maintainable application components using modern software development practices. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot moderately complex application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions in partnership with team members.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining unit and integration test cases to ensure application quality and reliability. The candidate will also participate in code reviews, support release activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to software development, testing, monitoring, and production support.

Additionally, the candidate will work closely with Architecture, Infrastructure, Production Support, and Business teams to understand business needs and deliver technology solutions that align with organizational objectives. The candidate may provide technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 and Spring Boot, including development of RESTful APIs and enterprise applications.

  • Good understanding of Object Relational Mapping (ORM) concepts, JPA, Hibernate, and experience implementing data access layers using Spring Data JPA.

  • Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and experience writing and optimizing medium to complex SQL queries.

  • Knowledge and practical experience with Microservices Architecture, including development and support of microservice-based applications. Experience supporting modernization initiatives or application decomposition is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures, including experience publishing and consuming messages using Kafka topics.

  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Rest Assured.

  • Experience using monitoring and logging tools such as Kibana, Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar platforms to analyze and troubleshoot application issues.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including experience using tools such as VisualVM, JProfiler, jstack, jmap, or equivalent technologies.

  • Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, Docker, Kubernetes, and exposure to cloud platforms.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

  • Contribute to performance tuning and application monitoring initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions.

  • Support application deployment, release, and maintenance activities.

  • Guide and assist junior developers on technical challenges when needed.

  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and software delivery activities.
