Our challenge
We are seeking a Senior Java/C# Developer candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software applications using both Java and C# technologies.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Software Development Lifecycle: Lead and participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Coding and Architecture: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in both Java and C#. Translate business requirements into technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Guide, mentor, and perform code reviews for junior and mid-level developers to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and QA, to define project objectives and integrate solutions across different layers of the infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, debug complex issues, optimize application performance, and resolve production problems across various environments.
- Documentation and Standards: Draft detailed reports on work performed, create technical documentation, and ensure applications are secure and up-to-date with industry standards.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience in software development, with significant experience in both Java and C# programming languages.
- Expertise in Core Java (including Java EE/Jakarta EE, Spring, Hibernate) and C# (.NET framework, ASP.NET, MVC).
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Proven experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and object-oriented design (OOD) principles.
- Proficiency with code versioning tools (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is often a major plus.
Preferred, but not required:
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lead, delegate tasks, and manage project timelines effectively.
