Due to major growth we are expanding our Technology Support team in Toronto and currently looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join the team. 

In this role you will provide exceptional IT specialist support to VGW’s personnel, ensuring that technology is an enabler in meeting our strategic, tactical, and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and supporting server environments (Windows/Linux) and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers).
  • Ensuring IT security best practices, conducting vulnerability assessments, and managing disaster recovery plans to meet compliance standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR).
  • Acting as the go-to expert for complex technical issues and leading IT projects to successful completion.
  • Collaborating with global teams and vendors to optimize IT services and communicate solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role:.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing enterprise-level systems and network infrastructure, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments.
  • Proven expertise in configuring and maintaining networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs) and ensuring IT security best practices.
  • Strong experience with system administration tools and platforms like Okta, as well as managing global IT infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python) to streamline IT operations.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex technical issues and ensuring the seamless performance of IT systems.
  • Strong experience working in a global team, managing regional responsibilities while effectively collaborating across time zones to minimize escalation.
