POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior IT Cloud and Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and support of the organization's cloud and on-premises network infrastructure. This role ensures seamless integration, security, and performance of cloud services and network operations, supporting business objectives and technology strategy. The ideal candidate brings advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to optimizing IT environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Azure) to meet the organization's evolving needs.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of on-premises and hybrid network environments, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Implement and maintain network and cloud security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Monitor network and cloud performance, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maximize service availability.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with application, security, and support teams to deliver integrated technology solutions and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network and cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in cloud and network administration, recommending improvements as appropriate.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and peers.
  • Provide support after hours and weekends, when necessary.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in network and cloud administration, with demonstrated expertise in both areas.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
  • Strong understanding of network and cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Canadian privacy and data protection regulations is an asset.

Salary:

$75 900,00 - $141 900,00

Pay Type:

Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
