Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced tax professional to join the growing bet365 US Tax function in Denver, Colorado. This newly created Senior Indirect Tax Manager role reports directly to the Vice President of Tax and Tax Counsel and serves as a member of the US Tax function’s leadership team. This role entails owning all indirect tax matters for the bet365 US operating group while also partnering with the UK Indirect Tax team on indirect tax matters globally.
Additionally, the Senior Indirect Tax Manager will assist with all manner of tax advisory projects and will serve as a key subject matter expert across numerous business functions as well as for all tax product and technology initiatives. This role represents an excellent growth opportunity within the highly dynamic and technically challenging US online gaming industry.
The salary range for this position is between $145,000 to $230,000 annually.
Qualifications- 7+ years of professional tax experience primarily focused on indirect tax preferably with a mix of public accounting and in-house tax function experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
- An active CPA license or J.D. is strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree or LL.M. in tax or accounting is a major plus.
- Experience assisting with tax advisory and structuring matters is required.
- Indirect tax compliance and controversy experience is required.
- Experience serving as an indirect tax subject matter expert for a range of internal functions (e.g., accounting, procurement, legal, and business development) is a significant advantage.
- Experience assisting with technical accounting for indirect tax matters is a major plus.
- Experience partnering with product, technology & data teams on finance and tax transformation initiatives and technology implementation projects is a major plus.
- Gaming industry or other highly regulated industry experience is a plus.
- Partner with the Vice President of Tax and Tax Counsel and the other members of the leadership team to develop and deploy the future vision for the US Tax function.
- Own all US indirect tax matters including spearheading sales & use tax strategy, managing sales & use tax registrations, and overseeing the entire sales & use tax compliance process.
- Partner with the UK Indirect Tax team on global indirect tax matters.
- Assist with all manner of tax advisory and structuring projects.
- Serve as a key indirect tax subject matter expert for other internal business functions especially the accounting, legal, procurement, and business development functions.
- Partner with product, technology & data teams on finance and tax transformation initiatives and technology implementation projects.
- Conduct tax research, interpret tax laws, and draft/review tax position memos.
- Partner with the Tax Legal team to own all US indirect tax controversy matters.
- Review indirect tax related language within intercompany and third-party contracts.
- Liaise with taxing authorities and oversee external tax advisors.
