The Senior Global Supply Manager – Contract Management, is responsible for overseeing all commercial and relational aspects of Generac’s outsourced contract manufacturers (CMs). This position acts as the business owner of the CM relationship, ensuring alignment on cost, capacity, quality, delivery, and long-term strategic goals.

This role operates at the intersection of supply chain, finance, legal, engineering, and operations. The Senior Manager is tasked with driving commercial excellence, ensuring contractual compliance, and governing performance across the global CM footprint. Balancing disciplined commercial management with building trusted partnerships, the role supports scalable, resilient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the commercial relationship with assigned contract manufacturers, serving as the main point of accountability for pricing, contractual terms, and ongoing financial performance.
  • Lead contract negotiations, including master supply agreements, statements of work, pricing frameworks, capacity commitments, and change orders, in partnership with Corporate Commodity Management, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams throughout the process.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, including service levels, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
  • Establish high-level, trust-based relationships with CM leadership, balancing collaborative engagement with strong performance accountability.
  • Conduct formal business reviews on a monthly or quarterly basis, examining key performance indicators such as cost, quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and risk.
  • Proactively manage escalations and disputes, ensuring prompt resolution while safeguarding the long-term health of partnerships.
  • Act as an internal advocate for CM performance realities, while representing Generac’s strategic and commercial interests externally.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance, and Program Management teams to align CM execution with product and business needs.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and lifecycle transitions by ensuring commercial readiness, capacity alignment, and achievement of cost targets.
  • Assist with dual-sourcing, optimizing manufacturing footprints, and contingency planning strategies to meet enterprise risk objectives.
  • Ensure contract manufacturers maintain robust business continuity, compliance, and sustainability practices in line with Generac’s standards.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term contract manufacturing strategy, including RFx, partner selection, segmentation, and capability enhancement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in contract manufacturing, supply chain, operations, procurement, or supplier management within an OEM environment.
  • Proven experience leading commercial negotiations with outsourced manufacturers, including pricing, contracts, and cost modelling.
  • Strong grasp of manufacturing economics, bill of materials (BOM) structures, and operational trade-offs in outsourced production models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional stakeholder environments and senior external partners.
  • Experience working with global suppliers, including manufacturing partners based in Asia.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or an advanced degree.
  • Experience in electronics, consumer products, industrial, automotive, or other high-volume OEM manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with sustainability, ESG, and responsible sourcing requirements in outsourced manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, ramp-to-volume, or multi-site manufacturing transitions.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
