About Our Team

We developed cloud-native applications with the ultimate goal to provide Software-as-a-Service.  We have combined business and technical expertise into a unified team to deliver superior software to the Private Equity investment industry.

About the Role: 

You will be working in a cross-functional team, using agile methodologies to build and support an AWS cloud native application for the financial services industry. We are looking for developers with great communication skills and lots of experience with NodeJS and React. 

The project is 5 years old and in active development for the foreseeable future. We have strong test automation in place from unit testing to end to end browser testing. Most of the work is new development with occasional refactoring and support needed.  

AWS experience is desirable and its definitely a differential, but not a requirement and something we can help you develop.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

  • You will design and develop backend code using Node.js / Typescript
  • Develop re-usable Front end React components and new pages in the application.
  • Help coach and support Junior team members.
  • Perform reviews and ensure the quality of the team’s work 
  • Create quality unit tests and maintain test coverage thresholds
  • Communicate directly with the product owner, UX and QA team members.
  • Participate and contribute on team activities and Agile Ceremonies. 
  • Manage AWS resources in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Qualifications

Your Role:

Required Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience with web application development
  • 2+ years of experience with Node.JS / Typescript
  • 1+ years of experience with React / Redux
  • Experience designing and developing asynchronous processes using queues.
  • Solid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes - debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoring.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven, with strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
     

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, ECS, Cloud formation and IAM.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, especially if related to fund accounting.

Salary Range: CAD $120,000-$150,000
