🎭 Role & Team

Long story short, we're looking to hire a Full-Stack Software Developer who demonstrates extreme ownership and sharp infrastructure skills to join our most recent Migration Platform squad.

You will join a team of 3 Full-Stack Developers (including you), an Engineering Lead, a Product Manager and a Product Designer, dedicated to building a cloud-based, distributed data migration system. You will be reporting to the Engineering Lead.

In the Migration Platform squad, your mission will be to expedite customer onboarding by building a large-scale telecommunications data migration platform. This squad is known for deep technical expertise, comprehensive product knowledge, and frequent cross-department collaboration. Since this tool is the final step in moving customers from their legacy platform to gaiia, your work directly drives new revenue.

No pressure, but scaling data migrations is crucial to gaiia’s success, and your squad will be at the center of it.

📽 What is your team working on?

Technically speaking, you will work in a serverless ecosystem of microservices deployed on a cloud infrastructure. gaiia is all-in on Typescript, with frontend, backend and infrastructure-as-code all leveraging Typescript.

As part of the Migration Platform squad, you will:

  • Build and own the system that migrates customer data from their previous platform into gaiia.
  • Optimize the automation of exporting, ingesting, validating, and importing millions of data points under tight time constraints.
  • Create a self-serve migration experience by developing intuitive customer-facing interfaces.
  • Become an expert in all aspects of the gaiia modules, as the Migration Platform impacts all of them.
  • Collaborate with Feature squads, Customer Success, and the Implementation Team to craft the perfect onboarding experience for our customers.

🎖️ Must-haves
  • You have at least five (5) years of experience in Typescript and NodeJS.
  • You have experience in DevOps and AWS services.
  • You have experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • You have experience with distributed systems.
  • You are process-oriented.
  • You can deal with uncertainty and bring order to fuzzy challenges.
  • You have an outgoing and collaborative personality, eager to work with different stakeholders to solve complex problems.

🪄 Nice-to-haves
  • You have experience with GraphQL.
  • You have experience with the React framework.
  • You have an interest or expertise in functional programming.
  • You have several personal projects exhibiting good coding skills.

💰Salary

At gaiia, we have a transparent salary philosophy and a robust evaluation and compensation framework. It translates to a fair and impartial model where salaries are published internally, healthy discussions around compensation and performance can exist, and taboos are removed.

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$190,000.

🔆 Benefits
  • Flexible 25 days vacation.
  • Group Insurance.
  • Telemedicine.
  • Life Spending Account.
  • Employee-sponsored RRSP.
  • Flexible working hours & all-remote work.

We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to inclusivity and diversity. Our workplace is fully remote and boasts accessible technologies, ensuring all team members can thrive. Should you require accommodations due to a disability during the application process, please contact us at 581-996-9639 or [email protected] as per the Accessible Canada Act and human rights legislation.
