Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well... you might just be in the right place to join our team.

The Financial Automation team at Lightspeed streamlines merchant operations by replacing labor-intensive manual processes like sales reconciliation with intelligent, AI driven, automated systems. We bridge the gap between complex data and actionable insights, enabling our users to manage their growth without increasing their headcount.

As a Senior Full Stack Software Developer, in this role you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of various features within our mission-critical financial products, with a strong focus on frontend development (approximately 70% of your work will be frontend related while approximately 30% will relate to the rest of our stack). You will make valuable contributions to the overall codebase by delivering new features, resolving bugs, improving our user experience, and supporting other related activities. You are expected to bring strong technical expertise, help the team accomplish their goals, evolve team processes and tooling, and take an active role in various production operations, including on-call rotations.

Note: We are accepting applications from candidates across Canada only.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Drive strategic collaboration in development planning, retrospectives, and demos;
  • Lead the system design and architecture for new, large-scale features, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable;
  • Break down high-level requirements into well-defined development tasks and work items;
  • Manage and communicate expectations, priorities, release status, and project schedules to stakeholders and the team;
  • Lead effort estimation for sprint and product roadmap deliverables;
  • Champion continuous improvement of our software delivery processes and practices;
  • Actively mentor and coach team members;
  • Shape the future of the engineering workforce by actively participating in the recruitment process;
  • Provide technical and process guidance;
  • Elevate coding standards and best practices by conducting rigorous code reviews in a knowledge-sharing environment;
  • Continuously improve our existing tools and products to ensure technological advantage.

What you'll be bringing to the team:

  • Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Software Developer;
  • Experience working for a SaaS product-based company;
  • Strong experience building modern, scalable frontend applications using React and/or NextJS;
  • Proficient with TypeScript and Design Systems at scale;
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java or NodeJS, including designing and maintaining APIs and services, is a plus;
  • Proven experience deploying scalable, reliable applications on the cloud (AWS/GCP);
  • Experience leading initiatives and feature work from system design to production deployment;
  • Strong sense of ownership and self-improvement, with a growth mindset.

About You:

  • You have a passion for software development and a customer-focused mindset.
  • You are a team player always working towards the overall team's success.
  • You understand the need for constant improvement, self-growth, and accountability.
  • You step up to solve problems for the business;
  • You set ambitious goals, and act with a sense of urgency and focus;
  • Acts as a vigilant steward of the codebase and technical processes, actively raising the bar

As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
