About the Role

Abnormal Security is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to oversee key areas of the Inbound Email Portal team for Messaging Security Products. The MSP IEPP team is responsible for managing Abnormal's primary Inbound Email Security full stack products, which include various Portal products and features such as Threat Log UI, Dashboard, and Security Analyst Platform systems. The team's objective is to improve Abnormal's detection engine by ensuring product stability, enhancing scalability, and broadening their impact on customers by catering to a wider range of customer types.

This newly formed team focuses on our portal, dashboards, and other components with which our customers interact. The team is responsible for both the frontend and backend layers, with a focus of 70% on the back end and 30% on the front end. The ideal candidate will have experience across the entire stack building distributed products e2e at scale, possess extensive knowledge of frontend development, and be capable of working independently on the backend API layer.

What you will do 
  • Own key deliverables from e2e within our division's quarterly roadmap and a subset of the key divisional SLAs/SLOs
  • Work with the Engineering Manager & Product Manager to craft the roadmap for the MSP Portal team
  • Architect efficient and reusable systems that drive complex web applications
  • Implement features and user interfaces that better demonstrate Abnormal’s value to our customers
  • Identify and resolve performance and user interface issues
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team 
  • Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities.
  • Hit the ground running contributing to the teams work in the first two weeks
Must Have 
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering field
  • 6+ years experience designing and building complex full stack web applications
  • 1+ years as a tech/team lead for a team developing complex end-user facing features
  • Advanced with React/Redux (or other Modern FE framework), JS, Typescript
  • Expert with Python and/or Go
  • You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
Nice to Have 
  • MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering field
  • Familiarity with our backend stack - Django, Postgres/MySQL, Node.js, Celery, Kafka, AWS
  • Startup or Cybersecurity Experience
