Job Description
The Senior Analyst, Finance (“SFA”) will join BAM’s Global Financial Reporting team and report to the Vice President, Finance. Located in our head office in Downtown Toronto, the SFA role is a highly visible position that provides a solid foundation and exposure to a progressive and dynamic career with a with a leading global asset management firm. The SFA will actively participate in the consolidation and financial reporting of BAM and will support compliance, investor relations and certain ad hoc special projects as they arise.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with global business units to prepare consolidated financial statements and public documents on a quarterly and annual basis
- Actively participate in the resolution of complex accounting issues and the execution of regulatory updates, including the coordination with auditors and operating business groups
- Assist in the production and review of financial reporting deliverables provided to the Board and senior management
- Support internal and external audit teams in relation to quarterly reviews, the annual audit and SOX compliance
- Collaborate regularly with operating business groups and various BAM departments
- Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework
- Assist as needed with ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operating results, and special projects
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Two to three (2-3) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function
- A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills
- Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team
- Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
