Purpose:

The Senior Financial Analyst will provide support with the preparation and analysis of quarterly GAAP and STAT results for Athene entities. This includes partnering with their manager along with Actuarial, Finance, Investments and all businesses to understand how deals are structured to support deal tracking and our growth in the APAC region.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with quarterly GAAP/STAT earnings materials to be presented to executive leadership team, including APAC deal reporting
  • Work closely with actuarial functions to provide meaningful analysis and challenge the GAAP/STAT results to identify opportunities for management to enhance outcomes
  • Analyze specific targeted line items and individual revenue and expenses categories appearing in the cost of funds
  • Assist with quarterly APAC deal tracking reporting and projection process (understanding key features of deals, drivers of results, perform variance analysis, operational considerations and provide management reporting)
  • Suggest and implement deal tracking process improvements
  • Lead ad hoc financial analysis projects


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience, preferably in the insurance industry with an understanding of life insurance products. Experience with Yen denominated products will be a plus
  • Strong finance, accounting (US GAAP and Statutory), skills including strong balance sheet and income statement projection knowledge
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with ability to focus on details and synthesize into actionable recommendations
  • Experience with general ledgers, databases and report writing is desired
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Math, Actuarial Science, OR equivalent experience. Completion of CPA, CFA, MBA, or ASA/FSA highly desired
