What you will do:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting plays a key role in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements. The Senior Financial assists in quarterly and annual reporting, assists in the preparation of the MD&A, and provides analysis into financial performance.
With strong expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates with cross-function teams, including finance, investor relations, and operations teams across the organization to provide accounting guidance and support for financial and strategic projects across the organization. Must have advanced skills in Excel and Power Automate.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A.

Prepare and deliver analysis, commentary, and KPIs on monthly and quarterly variances against budget to senior management.

Collaborate with internal and external audit teams, ensuring compliance with reporting standards for interim reviews and annual audits.

Identify and implement efficiencies in financial reporting processes and build automated processes using RPA tools such as Power Automate.

Research, analyze, and assist with the implementation of new IFRS accounting standards, ESG standards, and regulatory changes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Provide support with financial models, business cases, and other project opportunities.
Education & Certification

CPA or CPA, CA designation
-
Bachelor of Business Administration/ Commerce, majoring in Accounting or Finance
Experience
-
Minimum three years combined experience in financial reporting in an audit firm and in a medium to large public company.

Must have advanced skills in Excel and Power Automate, and an aptitude for continuous learning and process improvement

Experience using PeopleSoft accounting system would be considered an asset

Experience using Wdesk reporting system would be considered an asset

Experience with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and/or GAAP reporting

Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Ability to analyze and improve existing financial reporting processes, including automation opportunities

In-depth knowledge of IFRS theory and application in corporate reporting

Ability to lead and coordinate multiple deliverables within fixed deadlines, maintaining high attention to detail

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong understanding of securities regulations and MD&A preparation for public companies
