What You Will Do
- Manage the month-end close, including the recording of journal entries and related tasks.
- Responsible for financial reporting activities, including the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations, maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
- Develop and maintain schedules for reserves and provisions, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies in financial reporting.
- Assist in the interim and annual audit by developing schedules, pulling samples, and answering control questions.
- Manage tenant payments and ledgers with housing software program.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for leadership and board members, conveying key insights and recommendations.
- Drive process improvements in financial reporting and procurement practices, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial insights and data.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering collaboration and results-driven work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA designation preferred, or actively pursuing CPA qualification.
- 2+ years of experience in financial reporting, internal audit, external audit, and/or professional services.
- Intermediate experience in MS Excel (financial and data functions).
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with financial analysis tools and accounting software, and a willingness to learn new technologies to improve efficiency.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
