ISS ESG is seeking a seasoned Senior ESG Methodology Specialist to join our Global ESG Methodology & Quality Team. This role spans all ESG research and solution areas, ensuring our methodologies are consistent, high-quality, and innovative.
As part of the Regulatory Solutions & Fixed Income unit, you'll play a crucial role in advancing our market-leading Regulatory and Fixed Income Solutions, including the EU Taxonomy Alignment Solution and Sustainable Debt Solutions. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to contribute to one of our most innovative product lines and collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external experts.
Based in our Toronto office, you’ll work both independently and with global teams across the Philippines, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, India, and the UK. We emphasize cooperation and offer a welcoming, collegial environment.
Responsibilities

Enhance and develop methodologies for ISS ESG’s Regulatory and Fixed Income Solutions.

Translate global ESG regulation into research and products which address our clients’ growing need for regulation-aligned data.

Provide methodological guidance to research analysts, ensuring high-quality outputs aligned with client needs.

Serve as a knowledge hub for our methodologies, offering support to internal and external stakeholders.

Contribute to Thought Leadership and other materials showcasing our ESG capabilities in addressing global regulatory initiatives and Fixed Income.
Qualifications
-
3-7 years’ experience in ESG research, sustainable finance, fixed income, or ESG consulting.

Degree in a relevant field (finance, sustainability, etc.).

Experience with ESG and/or financial data.

Knowledge of sustainable debt instruments, sustainable finance regulation, or fixed income investing is a plus.

Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in German or French is an asset.

Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and conceptual thinking.

A collaborative approach and alignment with ISS ESG’s mission, vision, and values.
