Join Okta’s Enterprise Security team as a Senior Engineer responsible for safeguarding Okta’s corporate environment. You’ll work closely with the Security Engineering, Business Technology Engineering, Vulnerability Management and Product Security teams to implement and manage endpoint security solutions and protect core infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and corporate data. You’ll use your IT, security, and development skills to build, secure, test, and operationalize solutions that achieve security and business objectives. 

Preferred experience with enterprise security tools such as the Okta Identity Platform, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Mobile Device Management (MDM), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM), Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM), API Security Posture Management (API-SPM), Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), and Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Unified Vulnerability Management (UVM), Technical Documentation and Solution Architecture, Program Delivery Solutions (e.g. Github, Jira) and Dashboards (e.g. Grafana, Tableau). The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of automating solutions utilizing a cloud-first approach and be comfortable communicating concisely and in detail with technical leadership and management.

What you’ll be doing

  • Configure, maintain and optimize enterprise security tools and technologies to ensure they operate effectively.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance of enterprise security tools and systems, implementing improvements or adjustments to ensure maximum detection and efficiency.
  • Facilitate the day-to-day operations of the enterprise security infrastructure, including threat monitoring, detection, response and remediation triage at scale.
  • Implement strategies for continuous security insight by monitoring alerts and overseeing the responses to drifts or anomalies.
  • Configure security dashboards that provide real-time visibility into Okta's enterprise security posture. These dashboards should deliver actionable insights on ongoing threats, policy drifts and remediation trends.
  • Automate enterprise security tasks (e.g., alert triage, report generation) to improve efficiency and reduce human error in security processes.
  • Maintain continuous technical oversight of all security tools deployed across the Security org.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, clear and up-to-date security documentation and architecture diagrams to ensure consistent and effective communication of security practices across teams and stakeholders.
  • Follow timezone-specific on-call schedules to respond to requests from incident response, GRC, IT, and end-users.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to evaluate new systems and feature enhancements before they are developed and deployed.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience working with enterprise security solutions.
  • Experience with a modern scripting language (Python preferred).
  • A creative and scalable approach to enterprise security enablement and awareness for a cloud-first organization.
  • Experience providing security guidance and mitigations to teams.
  • Experience hardening and troubleshooting Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
  • Experience evaluating 3rd party software solutions.
  • Experience working in AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Experience securing web applications and infrastructure.
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Experience leading projects
  • Experience with managing and securing SaaS applications
  • Experience working with identity management technologies (MFA, SAML, WebAuthn)
  • Experience working with Okta

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$114,000$172,000 USD
