Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Director, Wholesale Logistics to join our Operations Leadership team. This role is ideal for a strategic supply chain leader who excels at building scalable logistics networks, strengthening external partnerships, and translating business growth into disciplined operational execution across complex distribution environments.
The Senior Director, Wholesale Logistics is responsible for setting the strategic vision and leading the end-to-end execution of warehousing and transportation operations across raw materials and finished goods, including both ambient and frozen product categories. This role oversees Open Farm’s 3PL network and transportation footprint, ensuring operational excellence, cost optimization, scalability, and service reliability. The Senior Director will drive cross-functional alignment with Procurement, Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Sales, Finance, and external wholesale distributors, while building strong third-party partnerships to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the long-term strategy for 3PL warehousing, transportation, and logistics operations across finished goods and raw materials, ensuring scalability and operational resilience.
- Provide senior-level leadership to warehouse and transportation teams, directly and indirectly through 3PL partners, fostering accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Own multi-year logistics roadmap and long-term business outcomes, and report on progress to the senior leadership team
- Own and manage cost optimization initiatives, freight savings programs, and operational efficiencies across the network.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with 3PL providers and carriers to secure best-in-class service levels, competitive lane rates, and performance accountability.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Sales, and Finance teams to align logistics capacity with demand forecasts, inventory strategies, and service requirements.
- Oversee logistics flows, ensuring accuracy, compliance, service level attainment, and risk mitigation.
- Evolve KPIs used to evaluate operational performance, service levels, cost metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead network optimization efforts, including footprint analysis, transportation mode strategy, and process redesign to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards across warehousing and transportation operations.
- Serve as an executive liaison between internal stakeholders and external logistics partners to drive alignment, resolve escalations, and support organizational objectives.
- Champion data-driven decision-making through effective use of WMS, TMS, and analytics tools.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience; extensive leadership experience in warehouse and transportation operations within a 3PL or complex distribution environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or network-level logistics operations.
- Strong expertise in supply chain strategy, inventory management, freight optimization, and distribution network design.
- Proven track record of budget ownership, cost reduction initiatives, and contract negotiation with third-party providers.
- Advanced proficiency in WMS, TMS, and logistics analytics tools.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating data into strategic action.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in warehousing and transportation.
- Professional certification in supply chain or logistics management (e.g., CSCMP, CSCP, APICS) a nice-to-have.

At Open Farm, we believe in the power of collaboration, meaningful connections, and enjoying our work together—furry friends included! That’s why we’ve adopted a structured hybrid approach that allows you the benefit of a reduced commute while still building strong workplace relationships. Currently, all employees are expected to be in the office two days per week at minimum, with Tuesday and Thursday as our anchor days. In addition to this, each month our Leadership team dedicates three consecutive days onsite to continue to foster alignment and connection across the team. During this time we expect everyone to join us in person to do the same. Please note: our hybrid approach may evolve over time as we adapt to the needs of our team and business.
