Key Responsibilities
Technology Vision & Strategy
- Define and communicate the company's multi-year technology vision and strategic roadmap
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns that could create competitive advantages
- Lead strategic technology assessments and provide recommendations to the executive team and board
- Drive alignment between technology investments and business goals across all departments
- Establish technology principles and standards that guide decision-making across the organization
Technical Architecture & Platforms
- Own the technology strategy and ensure coherence across products and systems
- Lead decisions on core platform technologies, infrastructure, and third-party solutions
- Drive build-vs-buy evaluations for major technology investments
- Champion modernization initiatives and technical transformation programs
- Ensure our technology stack remains scalable, secure, and cost-effective as we grow
Innovation & Research
- Scan the technology landscape for innovations relevant to our market and customers
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and technology experiments that inform strategic decisions
- Establish and manage partnerships with technology vendors, research institutions, and industry consortiums
- Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence across the organization
- Serve as the company's technical thought leader in external forums, conferences, and with customers
Cross-Functional Technology Leadership
- Partner with Engineering to translate strategy into architectural decisions and technical standards
- Collaborate with Product to ensure long-term technology capabilities support the product roadmap
- Work with Sales and Customer Success on technical strategy for enterprise deals and strategic accounts
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure technology strategy addresses regulatory requirements
- Guide IT and Operations on infrastructure and tooling strategies that align with company direction
Technical Due Diligence & M&A
- Lead technical evaluation of potential acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments
- Assess technology stack compatibility and integration challenges for M&A opportunities
- Evaluate technical risks and opportunities in strategic business decisions
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor competitive landscape and technology trends in our industry
- Analyze competitor technology strategies and identify differentiation opportunities
- Build relationships with industry analysts and maintain awareness of market directions
- Represent the company's technical vision to customers, prospects, and industry stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of technology experience with at least 7 years in senior leadership or strategic roles
- Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategy in enterprise software companies
- Deep expertise across multiple technology domains (cloud architecture, data platforms, security, AI/ML, etc.)
- Experience with Edge computing, including large data sets/time series data, including data aggregation and visualization technologies
- Experience working at the executive level and presenting to boards of directors
- Strong business acumen with ability to connect technology decisions to financial and market outcomes
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders
- Track record of driving successful technology transformations or major platform decisions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
Ideal Experience
- Previous experience as CTO, VP of Technology Strategy, Chief Architect, or similar strategic technology role
- Experience in companies that have successfully scaled from mid-market to enterprise
- History of evaluating and implementing emerging technologies (AI, cloud-native architecture, etc.)
- Background working with Engineering and Product as peer functions rather than direct oversight
- Experience in our industry vertical or with similar enterprise customer segments
- Published thought leadership or speaking experience at industry conferences
- Consulting or advisory experience in technology strategy

- Strategic thinking with ability to see 3-5 years ahead while remaining pragmatic
- Strong technical judgment without needing to be hands-on in code
- Ability to influence without direct authority across peer organizations
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to make recommendations with incomplete information
- Executive presence and credibility with technical and non-technical audiences alike.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $153,800.00 and $256,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
