What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible to deliver the People, Culture and Talent strategy which supports the banks’ strategic imperative to deliver consistent and sustainable performance over the long term. You will translate business needs into integrated Human Resource solutions to fully leverage leadership, employee capability and organizational development within your respective business portfolio. You will provide strategic advice and proactive support to senior leadership in all areas of Human Resources including: talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards and employee relations.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed
- HR planning and integration – Plans and coordinates the effective delivery of annual HR initiatives related to Talent Management, Goals, Performance & Success (GPS), Workforce Planning, and Total Rewards. Incorporate change management methodology into HR planning and integration practices (i.e. stakeholder and impact analysis, implementation and communication plan) to ensure a smooth transition towards the desired end state. Anticipates and plans for future human capability needs by analyzing and interpreting workforce information, reviewing results of employee surveys, and discussing top of mind issues and concerns with business and HR leaders.
- HR program delivery – Support the business portfolio strategy and objectives through the delivery of end-to-end HR solutions ranging from strategic positioning to implementation. Work with the leadership team to ensure their HR requirements are met and to help build a working environment conducive to high levels of employee commitment and engagement. Supports organization development efforts by partnering with HR Centres of Expertise on large scale organization design projects, talent management reviews, performance management initiatives and other enterprise-wide HR development efforts.
- Performance management and capability development – Help business leaders identify and resolve performance management issues including assistance with the escalation of issues to the Employee Relations, Policy and Governance team. Partner with Talent Development to identify developmental requirements and support the implementation of learning solutions to build capabilities. Provide leaders with guidelines, procedures and available tools from the HR Centres of Expertise to facilitate the delivery of all HR programs.
Who you are
- Strong business acumen and senior consulting experience. Advanced knowledge of HR concepts, policies and practices acquired through years of experience in an HR generalist capacity and/or HR Centres of Expertise.
- You can demonstrate experience in advanced knowledge of program management, change management and implementation planning capability to effectively deliver HR solutions to the assigned client group.
- You can demonstrate strong organization, leadership, and team-oriented skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate as well as lead across the organization to execute on priorities, influence change, and deliver results.
