BlackBerry is seeking a Senior Director & Global Head of Business Development in Ottawa office to manage, develop and grow a team of Business Development Representatives that are responsible for qualifying inbound marketing leads and finding, developing and qualifying revenue opportunities. Are you energized by building teams to generate new business opportunity fueling the commercial, mid-market and enterprise pipelines in security? We want to know!

Responsibilities

  • Support CRO in creating and advancing global government business opportunities for BlackBerry’s secure comms.
  • Work closely with global geographic sales heads to identify new opportunities or help advance existing government opportunities.
  • Use diplomatic and government contacts to secure high level government engagements globally to create qualified secure comms sales opportunities. 
  • Analyze and monitor geopolitical trends and diplomatic relations to identify government sales opportunities.
  • Support local sales teams during sales cycle for a government prospect by unlocking senior government champions and diplomatic support from Canada, US, and any friendly governments whose endorsement can help progress opportunity. 
  • Help train and educate local sales teams on how to sell to governments. 
  • Use contacts and networks to make inroads with government-adjacent entities like political parties, central banks, state owned critical infrastructure and create qualified sales leads for BlackBerry solutions. 
  • Advise BlackBerry leadership on global geopolitical trends and market opportunities via periodic presentations.
  • Help sales teams onboard the right channel partners that can unlock government business.
  • Develop and execute strategies for lead generation, and qualification to support revenue growth
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our strategies remain competitive and relevant

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with Governments, Central bank and/or and large public sector organizations essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to connect with senior leaders within Governments or Government-adjacent entities.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
