Help shape how privacy-first technology protects people in the moments that matter most.
Pontosense transforms everyday spaces into intelligent environments that can recognize risk and respond proactively, all without intrusion. Our technology helps older adults stay independent longer and gives families and care providers confidence that the people they love are safe.
As we scale, financial accuracy, discipline, and strong controls are critical. We’re looking for a Director of Accounting to own the accounting foundation of the business while also supporting planning, forecasting, and financial visibility as the company grows.
As our Director of Accounting, you’ll be responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of our financials. This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership of close, accounting judgment, and financial controls, paired with strong analytical and modeling skills to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning.
If you want to shape both an emerging category and the company defining it, this is the moment.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the monthly and annual financial close, including review and sign-off, and act as the primary point of accountability for financial accuracy.
- Oversee accounting operations and financial governance, ensuring strong internal controls, compliance, audit readiness, and well-documented processes.
- Apply independent accounting judgment across complex accounting matters to ensure appropriate treatment and accurate reporting.
- Maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support operational planning, cash flow visibility, and resourcing decisions.
- Manage company-wide budgeting, monitor budget vs. actuals, and highlight risks or variances as they arise.
- Manage cash flow tracking and forecasting, supporting liquidity planning and disciplined spend management.
- Design, implement, and enforce finance processes and SOPs, including documentation standards and diligence-ready records.
- Own and support cross-border accounting and financial operations, including coordination across multi-entity structures and jurisdictions, and working with external advisors to ensure appropriate compliance, documentation, and reporting.
- Support investor and external stakeholder processes, including preparing financial materials and assisting with due diligence when required.
- Work closely with leadership to provide clear, accurate financial insights that support day-to-day and near-term decision-making.
Who You’ll work with:
You’ll report directly to our CEO, Alex Qi, and work closely with department leaders across the organization. This role is deeply collaborative; you’ll be embedded in decisions that shape how we build, scale, and deliver our technology.
What You’ll Bring
- Progressive experience in accounting and finance, ideally within a high-growth or scaling environment.
- Strong expertise in accounting and close ownership, including internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
- Solid experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting, used to support planning and cash visibility.
- Strong independent accounting judgment and attention to detail.
- Experience improving finance processes, systems, and documentation in growing organizations.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and reliably to non-finance stakeholders.
- High degree of ownership, integrity, and accountability; comfortable operating in an evolving environment.
- Experience supporting investor diligence or working with external advisors is an asset.
- CPA or equivalent training is an asset
It’s not you, it’s us – you won’t fit in if you:
- Prefer environments with established processes rather than helping build them.
- Need highly predictable priorities or feel uncomfortable navigating ambiguity and change.
- Shy away from ownership. We move quickly and expect leaders to take initiative while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and judgment.
We believe everyone is capable. Finding the right fit between the company, the role, and the culture is key to your happiness and success.
