About the Role

As a certification focused Senior Developer in R&D, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our network appliance products meet the requirements of various certification frameworks. Examples include Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). This position will involve close collaboration with our product, documentation and compliance teams to integrate secure development practices, implement compliance-focused features, and guide our products through the certification process.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development processes with requirements of various certification frameworks.
  • Mentor junior and new team members, fostering a culture of security and compliance awareness.
  • Implement and document secure coding practices, software components, and systems to meet certification standards.
  • Develop and maintain software tools that support compliance monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
  • Execute assigned and self-initiated work with minimal supervision, seeking feedback and mentoring as needed.
  • Develop and drive compliance specific features and software development practices.
  • Stay updated on evolving certification guidelines and incorporate them into the development lifecycle.
  • Assess complex issues creatively, using analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Review and adapt software development practices to enhance security and compliance outcomes.
  • Develop certification documentation as required by certification frameworks.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and innovation by participating in department-wide hackathons and monthly R&D demos.

About You

You are an experienced software developer with a strong background in secure and compliant coding practices. You have cybersecurity, network security or network appliance experience. You are familiar with compliance frameworks or were exposed to them in the past. You are comfortable working independently on impactful features and guiding teams toward achieving security certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: Python, GO, AWS, Docker, Linux, Kubernetes, Cryptography
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to mentor team members in secure coding practices.
  • General understanding of network protocols, network topology and network devices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development best practices, with mastery in writing, debugging, and securing code.
  • Good documentation skills for documenting technical design and processes.
  • Experience developing native Linux applications.
  • Experience collaborating across teams to achieve compliance and security goals.
  • Experience with secure software development and implementation of compliance frameworks (CMMC, FIPS, etc.) would be a great asset.
  • Even if you haven’t worked with all our technologies, your diverse knowledge base and problem-solving skills will help you thrive in this role. Security training will be provided during onboarding and throughout your tenure.

Interview Process

  • Phone pre-screening: A recruiter will discuss your work history and provide an overview of the company. (~30 minutes)
  • Technical assessment: A straightforward technical assessment related to secure software development. (~1 hour)
  • Face-to-face interviews: Two rounds with team members to explore your technical skills, past projects, and career goals. (~1 hour per interview)
