We are seeking a high-performing ETL Developer who thrives in a fast-paced BI/Analytics environment and takes pride in building reliable, scalable, and efficient data pipelines. In this role, you will work closely with Data Modelers, BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to operationalize high-quality data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and decision-making.You will play a critical role in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining ETL processes across both Azure cloud environments and on-premises database systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and improvement. High expectations come with this opportunity—you will be entrusted with complex data integration workflows, performance tuning, and delivering consistent, well-engineered pipelines that support enterprise-wide DataMarts and analytics platforms.
HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL workflows across Azure (ADF, Synapse, Databricks) and on-premises database environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Work closely with the Data Modeler to understand data structures, business rules, and integration needs, ensuring that all ETL processes align with DataMart and data model specifications.
- Manage and support on-premises SQL Server environments, including database jobs, stored procedures, performance tuning, and ensuring high-availability of data processing activities.
- Implement complex business logic through data validation, transformation, enrichment, and orchestration across cloud and on-prem systems.
- Optimize pipelines to support high-volume data processing, monitoring performance, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively implementing improvements.
- Ensure data quality and integrity, applying robust error-handling, auditing, metadata tracking, and data reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with BI/Analytics and Data & Analytics teams to ensure data is delivered accurately, consistently, and on schedule—with transparency into lineage and operational performance.
- Document ETL architecture and workflows, including data flows, schedules, dependencies, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in ETL engineering, Azure data services, automation, and DevOps-oriented data operations.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on data modeling experience in BI/Analytics, data warehouses, or data marts.
- Proven experience using data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, Erwin, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of relational and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and best practices for scalable BI/Analytics data structures.
- Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of database technologies—preferably SQL Server and related Microsoft stack components.
- Experience designing and implementing data models that support Power BI
- Understanding of ETL processes and data integration, with the ability to collaborate effectively with ETL developers using tools like Synapse, Azure Data Factory Databricks, or SSIS.
- Experience with Azure cloud data services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Delta Lake.
- Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and data governance frameworks.
Total Direct Compensation:
97,200 - 118,800Any pay range is in $CAD
