Our in-house design departments include Architecture, Interior Design and Experiential Graphic Design. Who We Are Looking For
As a Senior Designer for our Experiential Graphic Design team you will skillfully blend technical proficiency with creativity to play a leading role in our team’s commitment to delivering functional, aesthetic, wayfinding, signage, and environmental graphics. Your role requires a high degree of autonomy and frequent involvement with external stakeholders. You will apply your subject matter expertise to drive progress on your own projects and begin to take on the responsibility of reviewing the work of others. This position empowers you to apply your knowledge of design principles and software tools to advance innovative design solutions. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the development of graphic concepts for wayfinding, signage, and placemaking strategies that connect people to place, communicating clearly and effectively with internal team members to achieve alignment on project objectives.
- Generate visual representations and 3D models for stakeholder communication, and research materials for design objectives, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project.
- Implement your industry knowledge to lead the production of message schedules, location plans, and artwork for experiential graphic design programs.
- Mentor others on how to implement industry best practices in the creation of graphics, production artwork, architectural drawings and documentation using tools such as Illustrator, and InDesign, with exposure to Revit, SketchUp and other 3D modelling tools.
- Coordinate project deliverables with external stakeholders, and propose feasible solutions to ensure alignment, quality and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the Contract Administration process by promptly revising drawings and providing feedback to ensure accurate incorporation of changes and compliance with project specifications.
- Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment with project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with stakeholder requirements, municipal signage bylaw building codes, regulations, accessibility best practices and design specifications.
What You Will Bring:
- A diploma or degree in Experiential Design, Graphic Design, Environmental Design. Industrial Design or a related field of study.
- 3-5 years of progressively more responsible roles within Design firms.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity and knowledge of current design trends.
- Experiences with Revit and SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and municipal by-laws with experience in the municipal signage approval process.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the Studio.
What We Will Provide
The expected gross annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Final compensation is determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
